A national inventory
of nitrous oxide emissions from cropland in China was developed by integration
of the DNDC model (version 8.3P) with county scale data on soil properties,
climate, nitrogen fertiliser use and livestock numbers - from which to derive
manure nitrogen inputs - and agricultural management (Li et al., 2001). The national total DNDC model outputs were
comparable to the IPCC methodology, although the regional patterns were
different - with higher losses predicted by DNDC in areas with high soil carbon
content.
